FEUERHAND No.176Lu “Luftschutz”
WWII-Era German Blackout Lantern
Original Olive Paint / Reproduction Frosted Globe

A distinctive vintage FEUERHAND No.176Lu, featuring a mushroom-shaped hood and a movable blackout cover designed to shield the globe and reduce escaping light.

Known as the “Luftschutz” model, this WWII-era German lantern reflects the blackout requirements of its time. Its unusual construction and rugged appearance make it a compelling piece for vintage lantern collectors.

This example retains its original olive paint, with rust, worn paint and other signs of age adding to its authentic vintage character.

IMPORTANT: The frosted glass globe is a reproduction replacement, not an original period globe.
